Headup Games recently unveiled \”Solar Shifter EX,\” a sci-fi shooter developed by the Ede Tarsoly Studio. Notably, this studio, responsible for the well-received RTS game \”Meridian: New World,\” consists of a single individual. \”Solar Shifter EX\” is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2015, available on PC, Mac, Linux, with console versions planned for launch in 2016.

Gameplay Overview

In \”Solar Shifter EX,\” the player\’s primary asset is their spacecraft: The Phase Shifter. Equipped with a technology akin to a spatial jump drive, the spacecraft aids in evading incoming bullets from all directions. The official synopsis states: \”The objective is to escape the solar system by any means necessary before its extinction. Background Story

Following humanity\’s colonization of a new world beyond the solar system, we are confronted by a formidable alien race. Although the war has ended, the losses are catastrophic. As a final act of warfare, they plan to destroy the sun.

Chaos ensues as pirates launch attacks on human colonies, with the singular aim of acquiring sufficient resources to depart the solar system.
